Computer Systems Analyst

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Computer Systems Analyst will lead or contribute to projects related to Information Technology and GIS.  Consult with users to identify current operating procedures and clarify program objectives. Develop databases from project specifications and statement of problem and procedures to create or modify computer data base programs applying knowledge of programming techniques and computer systems.  The types of tasks to be assigned to this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Troubleshoot and identify problems with computer and network hardware, including resolving user-initiated Help Desk tickets.
· Perform system backups.
· Assist in setting project priorities.
· Research, recommend, and requisition equipment purchases.
· Order and maintain supplies.
· Install new computer and network equipment.
· Initiate and continue maintenance agreements.
· Maintain an accurate inventory of District computers and related equipment.
· Application Development and Support in the following environments: Oracle Forms, Microsoft Access, Windows .NET, Microsoft SQL Server, and Visual Studio.
· Creating SQL queries to retrieve, analyze, or assess data.
· Designing, developing and supporting relational databases.
· Recognizing and resolving system related problems; working independently and making necessary decisions throughout the systems process within department guidelines.

This position must have, and maintain throughout employment with the District, a valid Florida Drivers License with any required endorsements.  The District will conduct a Motor Vehicle Records check prior to employment and may conduct periodic reviews during employment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  A bachelor’s degree or equivalent academic training from an accredited college or university, or a high school diploma and at least five years of related experience, are required for the position.  Additional post-secondary training, Microsoft and/or other network/software/hardware certification is desirable.  Familiarity with local area networks, network security, backup and disaster recovery, Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems are also highly desirable.  Familiarity with Microsoft Access, SQL Server and ASP.NET programming is a plus.
