This is a temporary, part-time position involving the performance of collection, quality assurance, and basic analysis of water quality, hydrology, geo-spatial and agriculture water use data. Work performed will include management of field data collection systems and operation and maintenance of real-time geo-spatial collection devices and water quality telemetry stations. In addition, a successful candidate will be responsible for entering and processing data and assisting other staff in data analysis and reporting. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Collect high-quality data by following FDEP standard operating procedures (SOPs) for water quality data collection, including proper calibration of data sondes, sample collection, documentation, and data entry.
- Collect high-quality data by following revised USGS SOPs for the operation and maintenance of real-time water quality telemetry stations, including proper calibration of data sondes,
- Collect geo-spatial images using a mobile imaging system to specific GIS standards.
- Assist with data entry and quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) of water quality, hydrology, biology, geo-spatial and AG water use data.
- Assist with processing and analyzing hydrology data for Hydrologic Conditions Report and filling external hydrologic data requests and phone calls about river level and flooding.
- Assist with the District agriculture water use reporting and related activities.
- Scanning, organizing, and archiving documents.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
